#13 – Lindsay Treadwell Rosenthal
Lindsay Rosenthal was born and raised in Austin, Texas. As a young child she swam, ran track & cross country, participated in gymnastics and tae kwon do, and played soccer and basketball. At the age of 12 she started playing for the Junior Volleyball Association of Austin and fell in love with the sport. Lindsay also played volleyball at Austin High School where she first started wearing jersey #13 because her older sister wore that number on Austin High’s soccer team a few years earlier. Lindsay earned a scholarship to play volleyball at the University of Notre Dame (where she also wore #13) and ended her career as the Fighting Irish captain. She earned several awards on and off the court including 1st Team All Big East, the Chris Zorich Award, and the Notre Dame Outstanding Leadership Award. She graduated from Seton Hall University Law School in December of 2004.
#79 – Mike Rosenthal
Mike Rosenthal grew up in Granger, Indiana where he swam and played soccer, baseball, and basketball. He started playing for his junior high football team in 8th grade. After a dropped pass, the coach’s experiment having Mike play tight end proved disastrous and he has been an offensive lineman ever since. Mike was a four-year starter at the University of Notre Dame wearing jersey #79 and also ended his career as a Fighting Irish captain. He was voted 1st Team All-American. In 1999, Mike was drafted by the New York Giants where he played for 4 years before becoming a free agent. As a free agent, he signed with the Minnesota Vikings where he played the last four years wearing #75, still playing on the offensive line. Mike was a member of the Miami Dolphins Football team for the 2007 season. He currently works in the store and is a cohost on ESPN 1530’s morning show.
Message from the Rosenthals

As lifelong athletes we have always demanded performance from our shoes and clothing. Throughout our athletic careers we’ve had access to several different apparel and footwear brands and we have definitely developed our favorites. So when we started a family we sought out the same quality and selection for our kids’ clothing. We discovered that our kids like to be out and about more if they are wearing comfortable and durable clothing and shoes. A great pair of running or basketball shorts seems to encourage them to run, jump, and play just a little bit more. Knowing that it is very important to keep our kids happy and active, we were constantly searching for the best yet affordable clothing for our kids. We found that we were frustrated by the availability and selection of our favorite brands. During our search we realized there was a desperate need for a single store that focused on active kids. We personally choose name brand clothing and shoes that we would choose for our own kids: Adidas, North Face, Puma, Patagonia, ASICS, New Balance, Solar Eclipse, Robeez, TYR, Zoot, and more.
We hope that you can have as much fun as we do staying active with your kids!

Carrie Appell
Carrie and her three brothers were born and raised in southern California. Her dad was a track and cross-country coach so she was raised playing with her brothers in the sand pit at the track. She learned a love of running early on and earned a track scholarship to Long Beach State. She still glides and bounds all around the streets of Austin. She and her husband David have two crazy sons, Santiago and Ulysses.

Gail's first career as an environmental educator took her to East Africa, Washington D.C. and Vermont and brought her to Austin where she's led many an interpretive hike and school presentation. Changing gears to manage 1379's online store and website has given her more time to spend with her husband and daughter, walk her dog, hike Austin's trails, and develop her skills as an art quilter.
